To replace an entire Aerotubo® section, it is advisable to make sure that the joints of the ballast contiguous to the section to be changed are perfectly closed and that no displacement of the pipe during the disconnection phase can occur. Then, open the joints of the piece to remove and replace.

Description

Hot

Repair should be done with a standard electric tapping welder (125-220 W) prepared for site tension. No carry-over material is required. Cut out a piece of fabric that we supply on request (the same as Aerotube®), of approx. 2 cm bigger to the width of the area to be repaired. The surfaces must be cleaned by any debris: dust, soil etc. The pipe to be repaired will be laid on a flat surface so as to highlight the part that has to be repaired. The welder is inserted and after 5/6 minutes the copper blade will be warm and ready for repair.

The tip of the solder hot (non-incandescent) welder is pushed under the muzzle edge (superimposed for about 2 cm) and simultaneously pressed on the same point with the thumb or index of the free hand. The welding is done piece by piece until the complete closure around the patch. As the welding process proceeds, the welder's tip will tend to be covered with a lightweight coat that will need to be removed with a metal toothbrush.

Cold

For cold repairs, a special polyurethane adhesive can be used to spread on both surfaces of the fabric, previously cleaned with degreasing liquid. For amplitude tears of up to 20-30 cm, repairs can also be carried out by keeping the fan low speed open and bringing it back to power for a few hours. For larger size tears it is advisable that the repaired part is covered by adequate bandage until the entire patch solidification is completed.
